Failed Appointment Policy

A significant amount of valuable clinical time is wasted when an appointment is not attended; time which could otherwise have been allocated for the treatment of other patients.

CANCELLED appointments will not incur any charge if we are informed 48 hours prior to the appointment. If it is not possible to keep an appointment please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the appointment time to someone else.
Any charges incurred will need to be settled before further appointments can be made.

If private appointments are repeatedly failed or cancelled at short notice we may ask for further appointments to be paid for in advance, where the full cost of the time allocated is paid on booking. In these cases the appointment fee would be charged whether or not you are able to attend.

Complaints Policy

At Dental on the Banks, we pride ourselves on the high quality of care we provide our patients. Our aim is to look after you as we wish to be looked after ourselves.
However, if you have any concerns or comments regarding your dental care, we will address these as a matter of priority.
We welcome all feedback, both positive and negative, regarding all feedback as an opportunity to learn and improve our service in the future. We will not react unnecessarily defensively, and your confidentiality and access to our services will be protected.

If you wish to make a complaint about care received privately then this can be made verbally, or in writing, to any member of the practice team. Please contact the practice on the below details, should you wish to make a complaint.

How will my complaint be handled?

Verbal
A verbal complaint made to a member of the practice team will be immediately logged and we will try and resolve your concerns at that time. If appropriate, the Practice Manager, will be able to discuss your complaint to try and resolve the situation for you.
As all of our dentists operate as independent practitioners, any complaint concerning clinical care will be immediately passed to your treating dentist. Regarding a verbal complaint over your care, the treating dentist should be available to discuss and resolve your concerns.

Written
You can make a complaint in writing to Dental on the Banks for attention of the Practice Manager or the dentist, and it will be handled as outlined below.
1. An acknowledgement letter of your complaint will be sent to you within 3 working days.
2. Our Complaints Manager, Mrs Paula Algharve, will be made aware of your complaint.
3. If your complaint is regarding clinical care, it will be passed to your treating dentist for them to provide a response and resolution.
4. A full response will be provided to you within 15 working days.

If we anticipate any delays in providing a full response, you will be notified and kept updated every 10 working days of the progress of your complaint.

What do I do if I’m not satisfied with the outcome of my complaint regarding my private dental treatment?

If your care was provided privately, and you are not happy with the outcome of your complaint, you may contact the Dental Complaints Service at:

Just finished invisalign - you must go here! I came here for a second opinion, as I know they are the best of the best (see all their credentials - highly skilled) and didn't do a week invisalign course. First class service and care. The things they do to your teeth e.g. the contouring and the texture of my teeth is so different. If you have even a tiny niggle about the appearance near the end, they will try their best to achieve the result you want. The results are way above and beyond my expectations. No add-ons or extra costs, as everything is included and a warranty too. The prices are competitive for a far superior experience and result. It is worth paying a little extra for their services. You will always have a face to face appointment, never a 'phone photo consultation'. Thank you Dr. Ramtin and Damon.

I’ve been going to Dental on the Banks for the last 3 years and honestly can’t imagine going anywhere else. While they may be slightly more expensive than some other dentists in Bournemouth or Poole, the level of care and service is on a completely different level.Every single appointment has been smooth, professional, and completely stress-free. I couldn’t have picked a better place to have my Invisalign journey done. All of the staff are so kind and thoughtful and even take the time to get to know you whilst having catchups each session. My experience with Dental on the Banks has so far been excellent. It is such a friendly, well run and sophisticated clinic. The first consultation with Dr Z. Yazdani-Khonakdar was very professional, pleasant and in-depth. She mended my big broken-off filling with a temporary one in the mad pre Christmas rush so I could enjoy eating all the food, thank you! This was followed up this month by Dr J Krezel who did an amazing job with my crown fitting. I felt at ease and pain free at all times with him and his dental assistant and the crown is just perfect! Thank you to everybody at Dental on the Banks.

I chose dental on the banks Solely because of the reputation and reviews they came highly recommended by a very good client on mine who also lives in Sandbanks. I have chosen to have full implants. My teeth are crooked and I hated my smile. Dr George was great with his team. I would highly recommend this Dentist they contact me very frequently to make sure the healing process is going well and I feel like I have the support I need which I wouldn’t have had if I would’ve gone to Turkey so I would highly recommend them to one of the banks for your implants.

Cannot recommend Dental On the Banks highly enough! Everyone there is always so welcoming, professional and kind. Without doubt the best dental care I’ve ever received and we gladly travel further to get them since moving house. The extra distance is nothing when the care is so great. I had an awful experience with another dentist in Winton who missed the fact I needed a filling meaning I was left in pain for months and they became annoyed that I had to bring my son with me. Dental on the Banks sorted everything for me and is always so accommodating of my young children. I wouldn’t go anywhere else ever again.

Always a great service at DOTB. I have had wisdom tooth removal, whitening and hygienist services here. You feel really looked after and they take their time with you to make sure you are comfortable the whole time (the most gentle hygienist ever!). So today I had an impacted wisdom tooth removed under the care of Dr George & his lovely nurse…let’s just say I wouldn’t hesitate if I needed to have another one done. So gentle, did what they needed to do in a calm, controlled atmosphere, pain relief offered before the procedure with steroids to help reduce pain & inflammation, antibiotics provided if needed. A really good experience with something I was dreading. Highly recommend for all your dental needs! 🤩

An absolutely beautiful place. It's more like visiting a spa than a dentist but more importantly than the beautiful aesthetics was the service I received from the staff there. The lady who talked me through the whole process of Invisalign was an absolute delight, a consummate professional and very informative and patient with all my endless questions. Although the location is a bit out of the way for someone who relies on public transport I have no doubt in my mind that if I do decide to go ahead I will go nowhere else. A lof of businesses could learn a lot from this company about outstanding customer service because that is definitely what I received. Friendly and helpful receptionists. Although treatment for implants took over a year due to some complex problems, the results are good. Both the implants and the crowns are comfortable and match the rest of my teeth. Good painstaking work.I recommend this practice.
