DENTIST

With over twenty years of experience, Dr. Yazdani is arguably unparalleled in her field – especially when it comes to her passions for smile makeovers and facial aesthetics. Her years of experience have allowed her to master the art of dentistry, providing reliable and beautiful treatments to her patients. She believes strongly in conscientious dentistry and always treats her patients with this in mind. Dr. Yazdani graduated from Karolinska University in Sweden which has been voted as the second best university in the world for dentistry. This exceptional education provided her with an extremely strong foundation and knowledge base from which she has continuously built on; making sure that she stays as up to date as possible with new treatments and evidence-based research.

She has successfully completed the renowned one year Tipton training course in restorative and cosmetic dentistry. To complement her dentistry skills, she has been working for over ten years perfecting the likes of facial rejuvenation procedures such as non-surgical wrinkle reduction treatments and dermal fillers to subtly enhance facial features while maintaining a natural appearance.

She constantly strives to provide the best results for her patients, having trained with some of the best in the world, such as Dr Ourian, the famous aesthetic doctor of choice for the Kardashians. Dr Yazdani has used her decades of experience to create the Symmetrica™ system, exclusive to DOTB, using a series of measurements and lines to achieve tried and tested perfect proportions and positioning of the lips, nose and chin.

She enjoys working with nervous patients and helping them to change their mentality and outlook on going to the dentist. She achieves this by creating a family environment, helping patients to understand that Dental on the Banks is a place that they can trust and enjoy coming to – knowing that any treatment will always be carried out painlessly, professionally, efficiently and effectively.

SPECIALIST ORTHODONTIST

Dr. Ramtin Taheri ensures that only the most effective and proven treatments are offered to his patients, using evidence backed research and case studies to plan his cases. His special interest lies in lingual braces (Incognito) which are braces placed on the inside of the teeth so that they are almost invisible. He completed specialty training in orthodontics (braces) from The University of Gothenburg which is voted as the third best university in the world for its field. Patients of Dr.Taheri can rest assured that the best possible results will always be achieved under his care. These results are not limited to just straightened teeth, but more importantly are tied to the healthy straightening of teeth.

Dr. Taheri always strives to make sure that the teeth work in harmony with the facial appearance and lips, with excellent long term results and healthy dentition. He has been working with patients ranging from between the ages of five to eighty and believes no case is beyond some sort of help or too difficult to work on. He loves a challenge and his infectious passion for his work creates an enjoyable and stress free treatment journey when you visit him at Dental on the Banks. Putting this into perspective, he was recently voted as having the best child treatment case nationally.

SPECIALIST ORTHODONTIST

With a passion for life and a passion for his work, Dr. Taheri has always been driven – having played tennis to a high level until his interests shifted to academia. Since graduating from Bristol University as a dentist, he has been proactive in furthering his knowledge in the fields of dentistry and orthodontics (braces). He successfully acquired his membership in the Joint Faculty of Dentistry and Royal College of Surgeons (MJDF RCS) after only one year and up until last year he had worked on mastering his skills as a dental clinician so he could provide only the best for his patients. His love for orthodontics however led him to follow in the footsteps of his brother at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden – one of the top universities in the world for its field where he received his Postgraduate Specialist Orthodontist degree.

He has since completed three years perfecting his technical prowess and theoretical knowledge through the specialty programme there. Dr. Taheri now works solely in Dental on the Banks treating only orthodontic patients, with a large focus on Invisalign. The Swedish philosophy is that all treatment should only be carried out if there is sound evidence to support it. This has allowed Dr. Taheri to bring this principle and level of work to England, making it so that patients in Dental on the Banks receive only the best and most up to date treatments with the help of the state of the art technology when they need it. As a natural people person, he enjoys working with nervous patients as he is adept at making all of his patients feel welcome and at home by creating a calm, enjoyable and stress-free environment during treatments with him.

PHARMACIST

Shadi graduated with a Master of Pharmacy from University of Gothenburg and has been practicing as a pharmacist for over five years, working both in Sweden and England.
She is currently attending Birmingham University Medical School where she is in the final stages of completing her postgraduate diploma as a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber. Shadi provides Travel Health Clinics at Dental on the Banks, where she carries out a personalised risk assessment and treatment plans involving vaccinations needed prior to travelling, involving the patient in every step.

Shadi is also able to support patients with medicine reviews on how to safely take their medications.

Shadi has a passion providing aesthetic treatments, believing in natural looks, and works closely with Dr. Zohreh in providing non-surgical rejuvenation amongst many other types of aesthetic work such as laser treatments.

At Dental on the Banks, we strive to achieve symmetry in a natural manner, creating correct proportions to restore our clients natural beauty.

SPECIALIST IN PERIODONTICS, PROSTHODONTICS AND RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY

George graduated from Bristol University in 2010. He worked extensively in Oral Surgery, Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics and Restorative dentistry across many hospitals in the UK. He commenced a five year specialist consultant programme starting in London in 2015 and the training includes Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Periodontics. In 2018 he completed an MSc with distinction in Conservative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute.

George has won multiple awards for clinical treatment from national bodies including the British Society of Restorative Dentistry and the British Society of Periodontology. He can offer all forms of high-end Restorative Dentistry such as Dental Implants (including Zygomatic, pterygoid and teeth in a day / full mouth implants) bone and gum grafting, treatment for failing dental implants, periodontics (gum disease), crown and bridge work, root canal problems and aesthetic dental issues too.

George is the first person in history to pass each exam for three separate specialist examinations in: Periodontics, Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry. With his knowledge and clinical skill in three different specialities, he is well placed to provide holistic specialist care. He takes referrals specialist care and only treats what issue the patient has been referred for before sending back to the referring dentist. Any referring dentist is welcome to attend the consultation or treatment session and can have a complimentary one-to-one teaching session about the specific case if required.

SPECIALIST PROSTHODONTIST

John graduated from the University of Leeds in 2011. Over two years he completed a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry before completing a full-time Masters in Implantology with distinction at Cardiff University. He passed membership examinations with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh before proceeding to complete three years full-time specialist training in Prosthodontics at the Royal London Dental Hospital. During this time he won the British Society of Prosthodontics In-training award; enabling him to spend a period of study at Boston University.
Upon completion he successfully passed specialty examinations with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh before moving to the United States where with the aid of a scholarship from the American Dental Society of London.

Here he completed a two year Fellowship in Prosthodontics at the University of Michigan – where he remains an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor. John has published cases in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, The American Dental Society of London and The London Dental Fellowship. He focuses his work on fixed and removable prosthodontics and works alongside specialist colleagues, whom he will refer to when appropriate. John is registered with the GDC as a specialist in Prosthodontics.

GENERAL & COSMETIC DENTIST / FACIAL AESTHETICS

Dr. Sherry Aboutorabi, a skilled dentist, earned her degree in 2002 from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.  With special interest in aesthetic dentistry and facial aesthetics, she stands out for her gentle approach, particularly excelling with nervous patients. Driven by passion, she loves transforming smiles and finds joy in her work.

During her free time, she enjoys walking, photography, and travel, with a keen interest in improving her tennis skills.

DENTAL THERAPIST

Grace graduated from the University of Plymouth with a Distinction in Dental Therapy and Dental Hygiene and received an academic award for achieving the highest grade in her year. Since graduation, Grace has undertaken a number of courses including the Periodontal Masterclass with Deepak Simkhada and a tooth whitening course with Enlighten. She is proficient in the 2017 BSP Periodontal Classification and the new Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Treatment of Periodontal Diseases released in 2021.

You may see Grace undertaking her role as a Dental Therapist, performing examinations, restorations and preventive treatments – as well as the full-scope of paediatric dentistry. Alternatively you may see her performing her role as a Dental Hygienist, providing preventive and periodontal treatments.

Grace has a keen interest in Periodontics, Paediatric Dentistry and Evidence Based Dentistry.

BUSINESS MANAGER

Originally from Yorkshire, Rachel moved to Dorset to join the Dental on the Banks team in 2020. She graduated from the University of Huddersfield with first class honours in 2014 and has since undertaken a variety of dental training. She is a qualified dental nurse and dental practice manager and has 15 years experience working in some of the UK’s most prestigious dental practices.

Rachel has undertaken a variety of courses to deliver the highest level of care and service to our patients. Her passions are firmly rooted in providing a 5* service, 100% of the time.

Rachel also works as our Treatment Coordinator and is the first port of call for our new clients looking to undertake orthodontic / Invisalign or implant treatment. She loves getting to know our new patients and helping them to make the first step towards a life-transforming smile.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys making the most of the beautiful south coast and travelling as much as she can.
